Uzbekistan Business Council Established in Dubai: Key Areas of Focus
The Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai has commenced its activities in Dubai with the support of the Dubai Chambers. The Council held its first general meeting on August 26.
The event brought together representatives of the business communities of Uzbekistan and the United Arab Emirates, investors, and senior executives of major companies from both countries. The initiative was launched by the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the representative office of the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade, and the Uzbek business community.
The meeting included a presentation outlining the Council’s strategic priorities, the signing of its founding documents, and a series of B2B negotiations.
The Council’s key objectives include maintaining continuous dialogue between the business communities of the two countries, expanding the presence of Uzbek companies in the UAE market, and attracting Emirati investors to promising projects.
In addition, the Council will work to increase bilateral trade and investment. According to the leadership of Dubai Chambers, it is expected to become an effective institutional platform for developing direct and systematic business ties between companies from Uzbekistan and the UAE.
The Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade identified the expansion of bilateral investment and promising business opportunities among the key topics discussed during the event. The parties also plan to facilitate the exchange of expertise and information and organize joint business events.
According to the Ministry, more than 450 companies with UAE-based founders or investors are currently operating in Uzbekistan, while the total volume of Emirati investment over the past three years has reached US$3 billion. Bilateral trade turnover between Uzbekistan and the UAE amounted to US$1.2 billion in 2025.
As of the end of last year, the Dubai Chamber of Commerce had 826 active Uzbek companies, representing a 21.3% increase compared with the previous year. A further 75 Uzbek companies joined Dubai Chambers during the first half of the current year.
The establishment of the Uzbekistan Business Council in Dubai is expected to further strengthen economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the UAE, facilitate new investment opportunities, and create additional channels for Uzbek companies seeking to expand into the UAE market.
