PV Power Plants

PV Power Plants

Today, PV Power Plants (PVPPs) are becoming increasingly important energy sources in many countries around the globe. They are:

  • Does not harm the environment (clean energy source).
  • Reduces dependence on fossil fuels such as oil and gas.
  • Help reduce the cost of electricity.

Many developed countries (USA, China, Germany) make extensive use of solar energy. For instance, China has the world's largest PVPP.

In Uzbekistan, solar energy is also paid attention to, as the number of sunny days per year exceeds 300. This presents a great opportunity for the development of solar power plants, which will help reduce electricity costs and improve energy efficiency in the future.

PVPP are divided into 3 different main types:

On-grid (grid-tied) - The main system is connected to the electrical grid, which first uses the electricity generated by PVPP. If there are interruptions to the mains, the system will also stop working.

system1

Off-grid (standalone) - Not connected to the mains and operates independently, storing energy in batteries. This makes it suitable for areas where there is no plug socket available, but the cost of the batteries will be higher.

system1

Hybrid - There is a combination of on-grid and off-grid systems, which makes it the most flexible but also relatively expensive system, as it requires a power supply through the grid or operation through batteries.
