A 280 kW solar photovoltaic power station launched in Quyi Chirchiq district
Today, the Ministry of Energy inaugurated the first solar power plant for the residents of Abay mahalla in Quyi Chirchiq district. The project was implemented with grant funding from Masdar company (UAE).
The station has a capacity of 280 kW and will generate 420,000 kWh of electricity annually, improving the energy supply for over 4,000 residents of the mahalla.
Another key aspect is the creation of 3 new jobs, all of which were provided to local residents. The revenues from electricity generation will be directed toward improving the welfare of the community.
This initiative is being carried out in accordance with Presidential Decree No. PQ-12 dated January 17, 2025. Within the framework of this decree, solar panels with a capacity of 180–500 kW will be installed in 300 “heavy-category” mahallas across the country, ensuring employment and generating additional income sources.
