RECOGNIZED BY FORBES: ALI ALSHIMMARI AMONG SUSTAINABILITY LEADERS 2026
Ali Alshimmari, Managing Director and CEO of Global South Utilities (GSU) and Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Yashil Energiya JV LLC, has been named among the Forbes Middle East Sustainability Leaders 2026.
Forbes Middle East recognizes executives who drive sustainability and positive impact across the region’s largest companies. The 2026 list features 145 executives in 17 categories.
This recognition reflects his leadership in driving the growth of Global South Utilities (GSU) and advancing renewable energy across emerging markets. The company’s projects strengthen energy resilience and expand access to clean, reliable electricity.
On October 15, a delegation led by Ali Alshimmari visited the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov. During the visit, the Regulation on the Global South Utilities Scholarship for students of the “Renewable Energy Sources” program was signed.
Earlier this year, Ali Alshimmari was also named Energy Leader of the Year at the Gulf Business Awards 2026.
