What is green energy?

Green energy is energy derived from natural, renewable sources that do not harm the environment. It refers to generating the energy needed for human life by harnessing the power of nature. These sources include sunlight, wind, rain, floods, waves, and geothermal heat. Unlike fossil fuels such as coal and oil, green energy sources are inexhaustible and do not produce harmful emissions that pollute the air or contribute to climate change.

Types of green energy:

  1. Solar energy: This energy is obtained by converting sunlight into electricity. Building a solar power plant is required to harness this energy efficiently.
  2. Wind power: Wind turbines use wind force to generate electricity. As wind blows, the turbines spin, generating energy that can be used to power homes and buildings.
  3. Hydropower: This energy is sourced from flowing water such as rivers and streams. Dams and turbines convert the motion of water into electrical energy.
  4. Geothermal energy: This involves heat from beneath the Earth's surface. Hot water or steam is used to produce electricity or to heat and cool buildings.
  5. Biomass: This energy is obtained from organic materials like wood, crop waste, and even garbage. When these materials are burned or decomposed, they release energy that can be used for heating or electricity production.

Why is green energy important?

  1. Environmental protection: Green energy sources emit little to no greenhouse gases, helping reduce air pollution and fight climate change.
  2. Energy independence: Utilizing green energy reduces our reliance on fossil fuels, which can also lead to lower energy production costs.
  3. Job creation: The green energy sector creates jobs in manufacturing, installation, maintenance, and research, contributing to economic growth and sustainability.
  4. Sustainability: Unlike fossil fuels, which are finite, green energy sources are renewable and capable of supplying future generations with clean energy.

In conclusion, green energy is about using nature’s power in a clean, sustainable, and beneficial way for both people and the planet. By investing in green energy technologies and reducing fossil fuel dependency, we can build a safer, cleaner, and more sustainable future for all.

Considering these aspects, under the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, Resolution No. PQ-57 dated February 16, 2023 (“On measures to accelerate the introduction of renewable energy sources and energy-saving technologies in 2023”) was adopted, and “Yashil Energiya” LLC was established. It currently operates across the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan to promote the use of green energy.
