GSU to Invest USD 27 Million in the Development of Yashil Energiya LLC Projects
On September 24, the Ministry of Energy hosted a meeting with Global South Utilities (GSU) CEO Ali Alshimmari.
The discussions were held within the framework of the tasks set by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev during the Abu Dhabi summit, where the prospects for deepening cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in the field of renewable energy were outlined.
Today, the total electricity output from solar and wind power plants in Uzbekistan has exceeded 8 billion kWh. To further increase the share of small-scale renewable energy sources and accelerate the adoption of new approaches, agreements were signed with GSU.
GSU will invest USD 27 million in the development of projects by Yashil Energiya LLC. These investments will support new initiatives in the construction of small-scale solar power plants, micro-hydropower stations, and the deployment of modern ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles.
GSU, headquartered in Abu Dhabi, is focused on developing sustainable energy and water infrastructure. The company operates across two continents and manages more than 400 MW of renewable energy assets currently in operation and development.
The UAE has become Uzbekistan’s largest trade partner among Arab countries, and both nations continue to expand cooperation in infrastructure development and the energy transition.
